zr9000 alloy™ Klein's proprietary alloy blends the advantages of aerospace grade aluminum, zirconium, copper and manganese into lighter, stronger tubing with a 98 percent better fatigue life than industry-standard aluminum. Its improved strength allows for thinner Gradient tube walls in key areas of the frame, which has lowered frame weight by another astonishing 15 percent.

heat treated frames After a Klein frame is welded, it is heat treated in a proprietary two stage process to finish Klein's durable, void free welds. As the frames are brought through a series of controlled temperatures, we monitor them to avoid warping that can occur when metal cools. Only frames with perfect alignment and strong, smooth welds make it through our rigorous process and go on to become Klein bikes.

void free welds A proprietary Klein process creates smooth, void free welds that are not only aesthetically cleaner, they're stronger. Since welds receive the most stress of any part of a bike frame, strong welds are critical to a frame's longevity. Because our void free welds don't include the weakening bumps and pits common to inferior welds, their smooth composition dramatically increases a Klein's fatigue life.

stringent frame alignment Klein frames are adjusted to the industry's most stringent frame alignment tolerances on all alignment surfaces and critical bearing dimensions. These surfaces include the rear dropouts, seat tube, top and bottom headset bearings, bottom bracket and brake mounting surfaces.
